You will be holy

This is a title. An instruction on how to be holy. This is the end of a process that began at Sinai

Before the revelation at Sinai, 50, and you shall be My chosen people, a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.

The Kingdom of the Priests – An Important Painting. All the nations are a global community and Israel is a priest who works in the Temple and teaches the nations Torah

In other words, from the outset, the Kabbah does not expect all the nations to become Israel

A Virtuous People – Dear to Kabba

A holy nation – what does it mean?

Here in the parasha we have come to the answer – how to be a holy nation

A holy nation – for I am holy.

We cling to the Mishna and the Talmud

The rabbis – hundreds of years before the destruction of the Second Temple and before Jesus – wondered how a holy flesh and blood like the Kabbah could be? A person cannot be an angel and certainly not a God. Not a grandson of God, not a son and not a wife. Balaam – not a man of God and he will be deceived.

If so, what does the text mean?

What are these special mitzvot?

To our surprise, the mitzvot in the first tablet are in a certain order – from the bottom up

From honoring father and mother, to Shabbat, and to the prohibition of the Blessed One. And then “I” to the sanctity of the self

From 5 to 4 to 3 and 2 and then to 1 up

A person who ascends these stairs reaches the holiness of the self

The question still remains – what makes a person holy? If he keeps the commandments, he is righteous!

But in fact, this is the end of the road to being holy.

Prior to that, the Torah presented in the book of Shemot the laws and judgments between man and his fellow, such as you shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, and the rest of the commandments of Adam and Noah. They are in the second tablet. It is from the bottom up. And now it moves on to the first tablet from the bottom up

The journey began at Sinai when the Kabbah told Moses that Israel would be a kingdom of priests and a holy nation and a chosen people

ומיד הציגה The mitzvot in the second tablet, between man and his fellow,  which the sons of Noach are also obligated to,

Only afterwards, after there is a Mishkan, did she present the mitzvot in the first tablet, including Shabbat.

There is a novelty here – Shabbat is a place where the Shekhina rests in time, just as it rests in the Mishkan and the Temple.

It can be said that one who observes Shabbat Kodesh with 39 labors is holy.

And so is one who dedicates. His life is for acts of kindness and mercy

First, a person will ascend in the mitzvot between man and his fellow, like the son of Noah, and then he will ascend on the tablet. The first is to be holy

But then again , a person cannot be holy

Similarly, the Torah does not focus on Shabbat, but on all the mitzvot in the tablets

Similarly, there is a higher level than Shabbat. Ascending from it to the direction of God – the first mitzvah, “I am”

As I am holy, so too will you be holy

How?

The Ramban here helps us solve the problem. He cites the Mishna and the Talmud

Sanctify yourself with what is permitted to you

Withdraw from what you are allowed to

Holy means “banished” in Hebrew, with a fence

The stomach is never a person. There is a fence

This is how you will also build fences for what you are allowed to do

Maimonides

For example, he should not immerse himself in eating, drinking, and feasting.

That he should not indulge in sexual desire, even with his wife.

Modesty

He should also distance himself. From all lust and transgression – beyond what is forbidden
